Registration to Pre-conference excursions
Fees for these long-distance trips have been confirmed by 30 May and remain as announced. Registration will be binding two weeks after announcement of the final price (on the website, and by mail to registered participants). For cancellations afterwards, 50-80% of the final price will be charged. It is essential that all participants be aware of the physical demands of these excursions, especially the Alps trip. Please read the excursion programs carefully and do not hesitate to contact us in case of doubt, or for further detail.
The registration fee includes attendance at scientific sessions, coffee breaks, icebreaker/poster session, and welcome reception of the city of Freising. Early Registration fee applies until DEADLINE_EARLY
Join the Society for Ecological Restoration. We strongly encourage our European participants to become SER Europe Chapter members to support our work in Europe.
Membership claims will be validated by administrators of the respective organisations until July 31st, 2016. Should you become a member within three weeks of the beginning of the conference, you will be asked to provide proof of membership, by e-mail to
or upon check-in at the conference. We must charge you the non-member fee if membership status cannot be confirmed.
* Student fee
: A confirmation of student status is required. Students are asked to provide a certificate from their institution or a letter from their Department Head/Chair that states that the attendee is a full time or PhD student. Please send your certificate/confirmation letter by email as a scanned pdf document to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The original version of the certificate is requested upon check-in at the conference.
* Developing country
: Scientist from 'developing countries' may also register as students. For the purposes of SER2016, a Developing Country is any country designated by the World Bank as a Low-income Economy, Lower-middle-income Economy or Upper-middle-income Economy.

The fee includes attendance in the social programme: Welcome Reception by the City of Freising, Icebreaker/Poster session and Conference Dinner.

Registration and optinal bookings are included apart from additional guests and and the pre-conference excursion.
“Twelve for SER” Student stipends
We are glad to announce that SER Europe will offer sponsorships of 500,- € each to up to 12 graduate or post-graduate students attending the conference. This is sufficient to cover the registration fee, and part of the travel cost.
Sponsorships will be granted first to authors of papers (oral presentations), then to authors of posters. Moreover, applicants from developing countries are given priority over applicants from other countries.
To apply for a stipend, please send an application to local organiser Julia-Maria Hermann at email@example.com. The application should contain the following:
- Your current address
- A short assessment on your qualities as a scientist, written by your supervisor or one of your professors – this can be in the form of an email
- An updated CV, or web link to the same
- Your submitted abstract, indicating paper or poster presentation, and proof of registration/submission
The deadline for this application is April 15, 2016, and you will receive notice of our decision by May 1st, 2016.
Stipendiates will be expected to assist with small tasks during the conference, such as packing conference bags, assisting excursion guides, updating the conference bulletin board.

After registering online, your user-defined password and username allows you to access your account at any time, to view or edit the details of your online registration, view your payment status, print a summary of your purchase or submit an abstract.
Conditions of attendance
Deadline for early registration is DEADLINE_EARLY. We set a time limit of four weeks thereafter for receipt of early registration payments.
For payments received after DEADLINE_PAY_EARLY_REG the next higher registration fee will apply.

Please register as a participant and make sure we receive your registration fee prior to 15 May 2016 to have your oral paper or/and poster submission included in the Conference Booklet.

Health related issues
Should there occur an insuperable obstacle related to a registered person’s health, cancellation must please be made in writing (by e-mail) to firstname.lastname@example.org, and an official and original medical certificate must be presented within two (2) weeks of the cancellation notification. For cancellations due to health issues received before July 15, 2016, the registered person will be fully refunded the paid amount. For cancellations due to health issues received after July 15, 2016, we will refund the paid amount minus an administration fee of € 50.00.
If Pre- or Mid-Conference Excursions must be cancelled due to excursion guides’ health issues, full refund will be given.
The local organizer as well as KCS is not liable for any losses, accidents or damage to persons or objects, regardless of the cause. Participants and accompanying persons attend the conference and all accompanying events at their own risk and responsibility.
